Ryan Giggs comfortable with his role at Manchester United – English Premier League

Manchester United’s legendary winger Ryan Giggs has come out and made his peace with the fact that he might not be starting many games for United in the new English Premier League season. The veteran midfielder was at the centre of Manchester United’s run to the UEFA Champions League final last year and he was instrumental in their 19th English league title triumph as well.

However this season, Manchester United’s favourite son has not even started a single game for the Red Devils up till now as United have played two matches already in the English Premier League against West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have won both the matches up till now but a stern test awaits them against Arsenal on the upcoming Sunday at Old Trafford once again. Ryan Giggs spoke to the media after Manchester United’s win against Tottenham Hotspur in which he was introduced as a second half substitute.

The Welshman made an instant impact as he assisted Wayne Rooney’s first and United’s third goal of the match against Harry Redknapp’s men. Giggs at 37 years of age is now one of the most experienced and revered members of the Manchester United squad, a squad which is mainly made up of young players this season.

Manchester United will also come to know their UEFA Champions League fate tonight when the group stage draw is made in Monaco, France. The Red Devils can possibly face off against the Italian giants A.C Milan as well as the Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund. Ryan Giggs will most likely get more chances to feature for United as the English Premier League champions feature more prominently in other competitions as there will be a need for rotation within the squad.

Giggs said in his latest interview, "I’m experienced enough to know I’m not going to start every game or even play every game. The thing I want to do is be effective and contribute to the team. As soon as I stop doing that, I’ll finish.”

He added, "Hopefully, I can just contribute to the team, to the club, whether it be starting a game or coming on and using my experience in games. You want to play every game, of course, but I know I can't." Manchester United face Arsenal on Sunday as they prepare to make it three out of three wins in the English Premier League. Arsenal are in a weak run of form in the Premier League as they have already lost Samir Nasri to Manchester City and Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The Gunners have failed to win their first two matches of the league season, losing their last one to Liverpool.
